"Do you even understand what they're saying?"

This is a question I frequently get asked, when someone catches me listening to kpop, or Korean Pop.
As a person who thoroughly enjoys learning about languages, I decided to take up the challenge to add Korean to the list of languages I knew or at least understood. In addition of being a fan of their culture, it is obvious that speaking English in Korea is out of the normal, and knowing that it is not an easy language, I wanted to be able to understand what famous idols would say, without the relying on subtitles most of the time. I also want to be a translator for the government when I'm older, and knowing more than one language would always look good on my resume.
